Bill Caption
Relating to the use of municipal hotel occupancy tax revenue in certain municipalities.
Fiscal Notes
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 2445 is a bracketed bill that would authorize counties with at least one municipality located at the intersection of both State Highways 71 and 95, intersection of interstates 35E and 35W, and at least two public universities the ability to impose a hotel occupancy tax.
Vote Recommendation Notes
We oppose all bills creating new hotel occupancy taxes. These taxes infringe on limited government and free markets. For these reasons, we oppose HB 2445.
