Bill Analysis

This bill would amend the definition of “student information” as identifying information regarding a student that is in the possession of the Texas Workforce Commission and any school, college, or educational institution or business entity from which the commission receives information.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill would further our individual liberty principles by expanding the definition of student information in order to make sure that certain identifying information is subject to confidentiality requirements, which protects the privacy of students and protects their information from improper disclosure. For this reason, we support this bill.
