Bill Caption

Relating to volunteer firefighter supervision of outdoor burning of waste consisting of plant growth.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, a person is allowed to burn certain waste such as as brush pile, leaves, or tree trimmings if an employee of a fire department, who is part of the fire protection personnel, is present and supervising the action. HB 2386 would allow volunteer firefighters acting in the scope of the firefighter's volunteer duties to also be an acceptable supervisor of the occasion.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 2386 does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
