Bill Caption
Relating to the establishment of the Texas Returning Adult Student
Grant Program for certain students enrolled in baccalaureate degree
programs at certain post-secondary educational institutions.
Bill Analysis
This bill would institute a new publicly funded grant program for adult students returning to school to earn their bachelors degree. This program would only be available for residents of the state and those who aren't participating in the Texas Grant program.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill would expand government by creating a new public subsidy for adult students to return to school and finish their degree. This violates our limited government and personal responsibility principles. We oppose HB 2290.
