Bill Analysis

This bill would mandate high schools to always have voter registration application forms available for students and employees.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill represents a new state mandate on public schools that requires them to perform a function outside of the core responsibilities of the public school system. There is no shortage of information easily available to people interested in getting registered to vote and school districts can provide these forms if they deem it in the best interest of their individual district. A state mandate is unnecessary. For these reasons we oppose HB 209.
