Bill Caption

Relating to the new instructional facility allotment under the foundation school program.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 2051 would increase the new instructional allotment for students that are being taught in a new facility.

Vote Recommendation Notes

The instructional facilities allotment is a subsidy the state provides which helps school districts fund debt service on bonds sold in order to pay for new instructional facilities. This bill, in raising the allotment by 300%, makes the state more liable for locally accrued debt which violates our limited government principle. For this reason, we oppose this bill.
