Bill Caption

Relating to physician assistant services performed as volunteer care.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

This bill would make physician’s assistants immune from liability when performing as a volunteer for a charitable organization at a public or private event or during a natural disaster and allow them to work regardless of supervision and delegation requirements that normally apply under the section.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill encourages individual liberty and furthers limited government by giving physician's assistants immunity when they are performing volunteer work for a charitable organization. This will likely encourage more PAs to do charitable work since they would be protected from being held liable under the section. For this reason, we support this bill.
