Bill Analysis

This bill would extend until 2023 the applicability of a statutory provision that requires a Medicaid managed care organization to maintain an outpatient pharmacy benefit plan for its recipients that exclusively employs the vendor drug program formulary and preserves the state's ability to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse under Medicaid; that adheres to the applicable preferred drug list adopted by the commission; and that includes the prior authorization procedures and requirements prescribed by or implemented for the vendor drug program. This section of statute would otherwise expire in 2018.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
