Bill Caption

Relating to a notification requirement if a public school campus or open-enrollment charter school does not have a nurse assigned to the campus during all instructional hours.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 1847 would establish notification procedures for public schools and open-enrollment charter schools that do not have a full-time nurse, school counselor, librarian, or an equivalent assigned to the school for more than 30 consecutive instructional days. Written notice of the absence of a nurse will be sent to the parent or guardian of the student, or may be posted online on the school's website.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 1847 deals with a public school notification procedure which does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
