No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, vehicles and trailers are required to be inspected for legal operation on the road. HB 1793 would exempt the inspection requirements for vehicles that are not domiciled in Texas, registered in Texas, registered under the International Registration Plan, and that has a certificate of inspection compliant with federal motor carrier safety regulations.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 1793 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
