Bill Caption
Relating to the use of certain weapons in or on the beds or banks of
the Canadian River in Potter County.

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
This bill would prohibit the discharging of weapons in the Canadian River in Potter County centered on the intersection of
United States Highways 287 and 87 and the Canadian River.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Because of the extremely local nature of this bill, there is little doubt that it is seeking to address an issue unique to this area. In general we find very little reason to restrict the use of firearms in one particular area given the numerous other laws in place that govern the use of weapons in such areas that would likely already cover this issue if enforced. However, because it is local and makes no obvious detractions from our principles, we remain neutral.
