Bill Analysis
This bill would allow for the inclusion of the website and link for a easily printable questionnaire on a jury summons letter. An individual summoned for jury duty shall complete and submit the questionnaire when they report for jury duty. This bill would also allow district and criminal district judges to develop a plan to allow a person to complete the jury summons questionnaire on the court's website.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Allowing jurors to fill out a questionnaire online could potentially speed up the process, modernize jury selection, and reduce the cost of notifying jurors. This bill gives county flexibility to determine which method is best and could allow them to be more efficient. We believe this positively affects our limited government principle, therefore we support HB 1755.
