Bill Caption
Relating to the designation of a water conservation coordinator by
a retail public water utility to implement a water conservation
plan.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, a public utility that provides potable water to more than 3,300 connections is required to submit a water conservation plan to the Texas Water Development Board. HB 1648 would also require such a utility to designate a person as the coordinator responsible for implementing the water conservation plan and identify that person to the executive of the board.
Vote Recommendation Notes
HB 1648 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
