Bill Caption
Relating to a study and report by the Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality on the use of green stormwater infrastructure
in this state.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is required to file a biennial report with the governor and legislature outlining commission activities and recommendations. HB 1536 would also require the inclusion of details, recommendations, goals, and progress concerning green stormwater infrastructure (which reduces and treats stormwater at the source through natural processes). Each biennium, the TCEQ would be required to appoint a Green Stormwater Infrastructure and Low Impact
Development Report Group to create this report.
Vote Recommendation Notes
HB 1536 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
