Bill Analysis

HB 1370 would amend the Tax Code to require the comptroller on request to provide a municipality, county, or taxing entity information relating to tax payments remitted to the comptroller by each person doing business in the municipality or other local governmental entity. Also, the comptroller would be required to provide a municipality with a population less than 150,000 information relating to the amount of tax paid to the municipality by a person who pays more than $100 in sales tax.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This is a procedural bill regarding reporting requirements by the Comptroller that does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
