Bill Caption

Relating to the date for prepayment of taxes on a dealer's heavy equipment inventory.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, on or before the tenth day of each month, the owner is required to deposit with the collector the unit property tax of heavy equipment sold, leased, or rented from the dealer's heavy equipment inventory in the preceding month. In that same period of time, the dealer must file with the collector a statement covering each item of heavy equipment sold, leased, or rented in the preceding month. HB 1346 would change this length of time from the tenth day of each month to the twentieth day of each month.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 1346 does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
