Bill Caption
Relating to the operation and movement of authorized emergency vehicles.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 1223
amends Transportation Code relating to the operation of emergency vehicles
during emergencies. The bill would clarify language authorizing emergency
vehicles using either audible or visual signal on immediate approach when
acting on an emergency call.
Vote Recommendation Notes
The authority to make changes to the rules of
emergency vehicle operation is clearly within the legitimate responsibility of
the state government. The provisions of this bill do not appear to have a
connection to our liberty principles. Therefore, we remain neutral on HB 1223.
