Bill Caption
Relating to prohibiting governmental contracts with a company doing business with Iran, Sudan, or a foreign terrorist organization.
Fiscal Notes
From the LBB: no fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 1142 would amend the Government Code to create a list of businesses with dealings with Iran, Sudan, or a foreign terrorist organization and prohibit the government from entering into a contract with any of those businesses.
Vote Recommendation Notes
The state has authority over who government contracts are awarded to. While this is likely good public policy, HB 1142 does not appear to have a direct connection to our
liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
