Bill Caption
Relating to including on the jury wheel card the current phone number, if available, of a person qualified to be included in the jury selection process.
Fiscal Notes
From the LBB: No significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
This bill would require the voter registrar of each county to include a current phone number on the voter registration list from all precincts that they give to the secretary of state each year. The bill would also require that jury wheel cards contain phone numbers of prospective jurors, if possible. The bill would also make phone numbers on voter registration applications confidential and not subject to disclosure in public information requests. However, the phone numbers would still be able to be used for jury wheel cards.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
