Bill Caption
Relating to the frequency of criminal background checks for sports
officials registered with the University Interscholastic League.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 1075 would require sports officials in the University Interscholastic League to submit to an initial criminal background check, as well as a background check every three years in order to stay University Interscholastic League compliant.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Since the UIL acts as a government agency and since a background check requirement already exists and this bill merely modifies that existing requirement, this bill does not offend or support any of our liberty principles. For this reason, we remain neutral on this HB 1075.
