No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, to be eligible to serve as an elected member of the board of the Employee Retirement System, an individual must be a member of the retirement system and must hold a position that is included in the employee class of membership. The individual may not be with an agency or department with which another trustee holds a position. HB 1014 would allow for one of the three elected members to be a retiree.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 1014 does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
