SB 685 would add provisions that will cause the education research center advisory board to be considered a governmental body for purposes of Chapters 551 and 552 in Government Code, which would allow them to conduct meetings to the extent and manner authorized by Chapter 551, Government Code.

This bill would affirm the principle of limited government, therefore we support this legislation. One way that the principle of limited government can be affirmed is by increasing transparency in government. SB 685 would require education research center advisory board meetings to be more accessible and transparent according to Government Code.
