SB 630 allows victims of trafficking to file a protective order or have their associated prosecuting attorney file such an order.  It also extends the ability for victims of sexual assault or abuse, stalking, or trafficking to seek a protective order during the post-conviction or post-offender-release phase.

Vote Recommendation Notes

SB 630 continues to protect the individual liberty of the of these crimes victims from perpetrators beyond what current statutes allow. This bill is a small step in the right direction of putting a greater priority on the victim being able to move on with their lives.
