Bill Analysis
This bill authorizes certain county sheriffs to inspect commercial vehicles to enforce federal
safety regulations.It would amend the Transportation Code, to provide that a sheriff or
deputy sheriff of a county bordering the United Mexico States or of a county with a population
of 700,000, lowered from one million.

We are neutral on this legislation. This bill would permit more areas to be able to enforce these regulations, however, this does not weigh against or in favor of any of our principles in which we provide analysis for.
