Vote Recommendation Notes

5/21/2015 update:

The House committee substitute adds language to include metropolitan transportation authorities. It also adds a section declaring personally identifiable data and financial information as confidential and not subject to disclosure. We support these amendments.

First chamber recommendation:

We support SB 57 because it would support individual liberty and limited government by protecting drivers private information from being publicly disclosed. There are remedies for collecting unpaid tolls other than publicly disclosing peoples' personal information.

The Committee Substitute includes metropolitan rapid transit authorities under this legislation.

Representative Simmons is the second chamber sponsor.
