Bill Caption
Relating
to public school educator continuing education credit for instruction
on the use of an automated external defibrillator.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
No fiscal implication to local governments is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 382 would amend the Education Code by requiring the State Board for Educator Certification to adopt rules to allow educators to receive continuing education credit for completion of a course on the use of an automated external defibrillator that meets the guidelines for AED training under Section 779.002, Health and Safety Code.
Vote Recommendation Notes
SB 382 would simply expand the current program to allow educators to receive credit, not just nurses and other required personnel. This bill neither
affirms nor abridges the liberty principles upon which we base our vote
recommendations, therefore we are neutral on SB 382.
