Fiscal Notes
Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for
SB1925, As Introduced: a negative impact of ($5,396,972) through the
biennium ending August 31, 2017; in the same period, there will be an
increase of an equivalent amount to the new Truancy Prevention and
Diversion Fund associated with the General Revenue reduction.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 1925 would reenact portions of a bill from the 83rd Legislative Session that established court costs funding grants for juvenile case manager activities and prevention. While the fund was created by the 83rd Legislature it was subsequently abolished by another bill later that session that consolidated GR-Dedicated funds without exempting the fund that SB 1925 would recreate. SB 1925 would appropriate the money collected from the court costs that are currently in the General Revenue Fund and move them to a new dedicated account titled General Revenue - Truancy Prevention and Diversion Fund.
