Bill Caption

Relating to the order of candidate names on a runoff expedited election ballot.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

This legislation would require the order of the candidates' names on the runoff election ballot be the relative order of names on the original expedited election ballot.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This legislation is intended to create more efficiency for conducting a special or runoff election by putting the names of the candidates in the same relative order as was on the original expedited ballot. During a special election runoff the provisions of this legislation may help elections officials to better administer elections on the very compressed time-frame for a special election runoff. We are neutral on this legislation, as it does not weigh for or against the principles on which we analyze bills.
