Bill Analysis
SB 1461 would increase the number of board members on the Dallas County Hospital District from 7 to 11 and increase the length of the board members staggered terms from 2 to 3 years.
Vote Recommendation Notes
The changes proposed by SB 1461 come after report recommended increasing the number of board members and lengthening their terms to help address the immense workload the board members currently face. Adjustments to the composition of such boards generally do not interact with our Liberty Principles and, therefore, we are neutral on this bill.
