Bill Analysis
As the fiscal note explains: "The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require that a search warrant include the
magistrate's name and signature and would make it a third degree felony to tamper with a search
warrant issued by a magistrate."
Vote Recommendation Notes
Government employees are entrusted with a limited amount of authority and it is important that they there are checks in place that balance the additional authority placed in their hands. HB 644 is a bill that intends to create balance for the additional authority given to government employees by adding a new offense and additional safeguards for photographs taken of children. We support this bill for strengthening our limited government principle.
