Relating to the continued service of municipal court judges for another term of office.

There is no significant fiscal implication to the State or local government.

Bill Analysis

HB 4103 would clarify in the code that municipal court judges who continue to serve for another term in office may perform the duties of their office without an additional oath or affirmation. This would effectively make their oath or affirmation from the previous term carry over into the subsequent term.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill makes an administrative and clarifying change that has no discernible connection to principles of liberty, therefore we are neutral on HB 4103.

The second chamber sponsor is Senator Garcia.
