Relating to certain licenses issued to retired judicial officers; amending the requirements for a license.
Fiscal Notes
There is no significant fiscal implication to the State or local government.
Bill Analysis
HB 3747 would amend the
Government Code to add a retired federal judge who is a resident of
Texas or a retired judge who is a visiting judge to the list of active
or retired judicial officers eligible to obtain a license to carry a
concealed handgun.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill affirms the principle of limited government by permitting additional judicial officers to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights and carry a concealed handgun. For this reason, we support HB 3747.
