Bill Caption

Relating to sex offender treatment as a condition of parole or mandatory supervision for certain releasees.

Fiscal Notes

There is no significant fiscal implication to the State or local units of government anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 3387 would require an inmate released on parole or mandatory supervision if they are convicted of a sexual offense or are required to register as a sex offender to enroll in a sex offender treatment program.

Vote Recommendation Notes

The sex offender treatment program has been developed in order to reduce recidivism of sex offenders. This benefits the individual offenders by helping to re-integrate them into society and it helps the taxpayers by reducing the cost of the criminal justice system. We support this legislation.
