No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 2999 would assure that a property owners association may not include or
enforce a provision in a dedicatory instrument that prohibits,
restricts, or has the effect of prohibiting or restricting any
person who is otherwise authorized from lawfully possessing,
transporting, or storing a firearm, any part of a firearm, or
firearm ammunition or lawfully discharging a firearm.
Vote Recommendation Notes
We support HB 2999 under the property rights principle and individual liberty principle. This legislation prohibits a housing association from refusing to allow a property owner within their jurisdiction from possessing firearms or ammunition that they are legally allowed to possess.
