Bill Caption

Relating to the elections for which federal postcard applicant voters may be sent ballots by e-mail.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

This legislation would amend Elections Code to send an electronic ballot by e-mail for any election, not just one that includes Federal candidates as current law permits.

Vote Recommendation Notes

We are opposed to this legislation. The "e-printing" of ballots has a high likelihood for additional voter fraud. This legislation would permit a voter to print out any amount of ballots to be filled out and submitted for themselves or on behalf of other individuals. We oppose this legislation as it opens the door for voter fraud in local elections, and goes against the personal responsibility principle.
