Bill Caption
Relating to the provision of the reason for rejecting a voter registration application.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
This legislation would amend the Election Code to require a voter registrar to identify which section of a
voter registration application resulted in it being rejected. Official forms will need to be created by the Secretary of State for notification of this.
Vote Recommendation Notes
We support this legislation under the personal responsibility principle. This bill would provide voters with an explanation as to why their registration application was rejected, so they would be able to correct any errors before resubmitting the application.
