Bill Analysis

This bill would prohibit an entity serving the public from disallowing a peace officer or special investigator from carrying a weapon that the officer is otherwise authorized to carry -- regardless of whether the peace officer or special investigator is engaged in the actual discharge of the officer's or investigator's duties while carrying the weapon.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This legislation would allow a peace officer to carry a firearm, if they are authorized to carry these weapons as if they were on duty. This legislation does not weigh on our principles which we consider when providing bill analysis, therefore we remain neutral.
