Bill Analysis

HB 2246 would amend various codes to require that a defendant whose license is suspended for certain alcohol related offenses obtain and use an ignition interlock ("breathalyzer") device if the defendant applies for and receives an occupational driver's license.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 2246 would increase the personal responsibility of those who have been convicted of serous enough alcohol-related offenses to warrant the revocation of a drivers license. We support this legislation.
