Bill Analysis
This legislation would amend the Election Code to change the signature that would be compared for verification by the committee as required on each carrier envelope certificate
for an early voting ballot voted by mail, by allowing any two or more signatures of the
voter made within the preceding six years to be compared.
Vote Recommendation Notes
We support this legislation under the individual liberty principle. This legislation would allow for the comparison of signatures of the last six years in an effort to confirm voter identification. This legislation promotes individual liberty by protecting an individuals right to cast a ballot that isn't fraudulent, by instituting a checks and balances, using an ID and signature cards as comparisons for identification confirmation purposes.
