Fiscal Notes
The Office of the Attorney General indicated the costs associated with implementation of the bill

Bill Analysis
HB 2134 seeks to allow a reasonable standard for public information requests sent through
email by allowing the governmental body to also communicate through email. This bill would not change the responding deadlines.
Vote Recommendation Notes
HB 2134 would allow governmental bodies to respond to public information requests in a more expedient and cost effective manner. This bill would allow governmental bodies' responding capabilities to evolve with technology while also saving Texans some money. We support this legislation.
