This is a cleanup bill to replace references to the defunct Texas Juvenile Probation Commission and the Texas Youth Commission with the name of the successor agency, the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. 

The second chamber sponsor is Senator Menendez.

Because this legislation makes nonsubstantive clerical changes to statute, HB 1549 has no discernible connection to our liberty principles. We remain neutral on HB 1549.
