Bill Analysis

HB 1287 creates a requirement that public institutions of higher education provide a prominent link on their websites to existing data reports from Texas Consumer Resource for Education and Workforce Statistics (CREWS) for each respective higher education institution.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill affirms the principle of limited government by increasing transparency for post-graduation statistics regarding wages and careers for each public university. This would help potential students make an educated choice on which university to attend and potentially help save students from lower wage careers that come with a price of higher indebtedness from school. For these reasons, we support HB 1237.

The Senate sponsor is Senator Burton.
