Bill Analysis

HB 1169 would make rendition statements and the information contained in those statements along with income and expense information related to a property filed with an appraisal office is confidential. Information voluntarily disclosed to an appraisal office or the comptroller about real or personal property sales prices after a promise it will be held confidential.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 1169 would simply protect personal information, whether voluntarily disclosed or not, given to an appraisal office or the comptroller confidential. This simple provision would protect sensitive personal information from public eyes. We support this legislation.
