House Bill 1151 would seek to provide unpaid interns with the same protection against sexual harassment in the workplace as employees already benefit from.
Because unpaid interns are not technically considered employees, and neither are they in practice, court rulings decided against providing the same protection for them. House Bill 1151 would extend this protection to them without changing the current status of unpaid interns. As a consequence, we support this bill.
