05/18/2015 We remain neutral on HB 1140 in the second chamber. The second chamber sponsor is Senator Whitmire.

HB 1140 would require county sheriffs to report factors concerning the care of pregnant prisoners to the Commission on Jail Standard. The bill would require the commission to provide a copy of the summary no later than December 1, 2016, to the governor, the lieutenant governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, and each standing committee of the senate and house of representatives having primary jurisdiction over matters relating to corrections.
