Relating to the evaluation by applicants for permits for certain electric generating facilities of water-efficient cooling technologies.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. Cost to Local units of Government is not expected to be significant.

Bill Analysis

Summary: This legislation would require the owner or operator of an electric generating facility, to submit a report to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), evaluating the water needs of the facility (including water source), consumptive and nonconsumptive water use, and water reuse of the facility during the preceding year.

Analysis: This bill is neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we are neutral on this legislation.
