Bill Analysis

Summary: SB 112 would require insurance companies to use a standard form for residential policies. The form would list and identify the types of deductibles that the policy includes.

Analysis: Although it is important for insurance companies to be forthcoming with information to the policyholders, government should not mandate the form through which that happens. Companies should be able to choose how they communicate with their policyholders and individuals should be responsible for the type of policy that they agree to.
