Summary: Under current law, a concealed handgun license holder must go through a continuing education course every five years to renew the license. HB 48 revises renewal requirements by:

Analysis: Law-abiding citizens should not have undue burdens placed on them regarding carrying a concealed handgun. The process to renew a concealed handgun license should not be burdensome. HB 48 removes the requirement of law-abiding citizens to take educational courses every five years to renew their concealed handgun license. For these reasons, we recommend voting YES on HB 48.
