Bill Analysis

Summary: HB 3407 requires the Texas Juvenile Justice Department to develop best practices for identifying victims of sex trafficking and to share that information with local juvenile probation departments.

Analysis: Identifying victims of sex trafficking helps government entities more effectively pursue justice and get victims the help that they need. By developing and sharing best practices, identification and assistance become more probable. This is a legitimate function of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department and we encourage legislators to support HB 3407.
