Bill Analysis

Summary: This legislation grants temporary exemption to vehicles of active duty service members, from annual vehicle registration, and adjudication for abandoned vehicles parked in a lawful manner.

Analysis: For service members deployed abroad, vehicle registration should be the last of their worries. However service members at a duty station outside the boundaries of the state of Texas but still within the United States should still be required to ensure that their vehicle registration remains current. This bill falls outside the purview of our liberty principals. TPPA is neutral on this legislation.
